Hyprocure Left Week 5

One major change I’ve noticed… I’m no longer sore in the morning! Yipee! (this goes for both of my feet, seems to have happened over the weekend.)

I’m still tender if my foot bends in a strange position (like stepping on uneven ground)

My right foot is getting stronger, but I still have trouble going down stairs.

How To: Make Mario Fun Again!

Okay, I know mario is fun even though it’s like 20 years old now. But you have to admit, once you’ve played the old games enough you practically have the levels memorized. Atleast the first few.

My brother in law came up with this awesome idea. Basically using an emulator you flip the screen horizontally. You also have to flip the left and right buttons around on your keyboard/controller.

The result should look like this.

Strange but familiar right?
I’m on a mac and therefore use an emulator nestopia. I’m not sure if the other windows emulators will have a setting that can achieve this effect, but it’s worth looking into.

Active Hyprocure

So yesterday I felt like trying to be more active. I was in the office and decided to see if I could dash down the hallway… I started to run! Immediately there was pain in my right foot. My left one seemed to handle it fine. Later I was at a bachelor party being held in a gym. I was able to kinda half run but not for long and nowhere near fullspeed…

Oh well… Guess I still have some healing to do.

Hyprocure Left Week 3

So Β it’s been three weeks already. Wow!

All I can say is my wound has healed, I have no pain in my foot (unless I do something awkward), and my other one is doing alot better!

I can almost walk down the stairs unaided with my right foot.

Atleast I think the pain of doing the task isn’t there anymore, but my right foot is still just not strong enough.

I feel more comfortable everyday!

Hyprocure Left Week 2

Every day gets better and better… today I actually didn’t feel pain in either of my feet. (Though I do have a desk job which I’m sure helps)

My right one still feels awkward but my left is doing A OK

Every once in a while I’ll do something drastic and my foot says NO!

The wound is all scabbed now… think I’ll go in the hot tub.

Bye!

Hyprocure Week 3

Well it’s finally week 3. In two more weeks I’m off to get the other foot done.

I’ve been trying to get off of ibuprofen for the last couple of days. But today my foot is just achey, so I think I’ll go back on it for a while still…

I still get paranoid about the stent moving, which seems stupid at this point.

Here’s a before and after animation.

Weird thing is I can kinda “try” to put my foot in the old position… but it just hurts too much.

I’ve been getting stronger on my toes also, and am almost ready to go downstairs unaided by a railing.

If you look closely you can see the correction achieved!

Here’s my wound after 3 weeks.

Hyprocure Week 2

Well… it’s been two weeks.

Most of the pain in my foot is gone! Yay

However… I did notice something odd. I can’t go down stairs.I did a little experiment and found out this: Basically I can’t put my left foot lower than my right foot because that would require me to bend my right foot forward. Doing this makes my foot “want” to collapse into the old position (I assume because my tendons are tight or something) but doing this causes a lot of pain. I’m thinking I have to slowly stretch my foot out now.

On a side note here’s a picture of my incision in all of its glorious (or gory) details.
